BACKGROUND CHECKS: Verifying Honesty in Job Applicants

Industry research suggests that up to 40 percent of job applicants misrepresent themselves on their resumes.  This can be anything from embellishing job titles and fudging dates of employment to outright lies and fabrications about where they have worked, educational degrees obtained or other professional credentials.

The key to success is distinguishing between those candidates who are trying to “pull the wool over your eyes”, from the legitimate and honest job candidates who have the professional credentials and degrees required to get the job.

What is the challenge?

  • Growing companies with busy HR professionals do not have the necessary time or resources to background screen their job candidates
  • It becomes increasingly diffiicult for businesses to stay up-to-date with ever-evolving compliance rules on federal, state and local levels
  • Employers are rightly concluding that they simply cannot “do it alone”

This is where MBI comes in.

MBI Worldwide’s national and global practice offers our clients a legally compliant background screening process from start-to-finish.  MBI works in close consultation with our client partners to navigate the shifting legal environment with accurate, affordable and timely employment screenings of candidates’ credentials.
